Amirim: The First Vegan Village in the World.

The place on earth where humankind, animals and nature have the same respect

As I write this article, I share a nostalgic smile with you, one that comes from finally having visited Amirim, a village that I've been wanting to visit for years. With a stunning view of the Sea of Galilee in the north of Israel, the village is surrounded by a forest.

The area offers a mysterious vibe with an abundance of beautiful nature, diversity, unique people, rich history, culture, and spirituality. On the next hill, you will find Safed, known to people who study Kabbalah, Jewish mysticism, as the spiritual center of the world. You can also find nearby a Druze village with wonderful hummus, as well as Haifa, a beautiful city packed with coexistence and peace between Jews, Christians, and Muslims, and home to the Baha'i Faith, the newest monotheistic religion in the world.

Amirim was founded as a vegetarian community in 1958, and its members have gradually adopted a vegan philosophy. Visitors to the village can now have access to health and education centers, guesthouses, spas, restaurants, and organic products.

It was an awesome birthday gift trip, the best company, the most gracious hosts, the wood cabin with jacuzzi and incredible views, the massage in a holistic center and of course the food. It was amazing, served with organic wine from a local boutique winery and olive oil from the town.

Apart from the well-known and traditional sites in the Holy Land, Amirim, the Vegan Paradise on Earth, is one of my favorite and special places to visit in the Middle East.
